It was a delicious day today-- a Saturday with nothing urgent to do that would take me away from home.
So what did I do today?
Made waffles for brunch. Enjoyed them with blueberries and whipped cream, I might add.
Weeded the strawberry/rhubarb patch and the wild flower garden at the back fence.
Cleaned the outside of the windows.
Watched Buddy the Cat attempt to catch a bird. Luckily I screamed at just the right time, so Buddy got distracted and the slightly traumatized little bird flew away, no doubt thankful its little life was spared -- and just barely. Buddy might LOOK innocent, but he's far from it!
Used my Braun hand blender for the final time. It has seized up with no hope of recovery. Such a pitiful way to end its utilitarian life. Now of no value whatsoever. It was a wedding present from my sister in law...29 years ago almost!! It has lasted a LONG time and I'm sad to see it go. I wonder if they still make these hand blenders full size? I know I've seen smaller ones around.
Sat by the pool (which is too cold to use at this time) with Handyman (that's his new name) and admired the lovely black chain link fence that is now complete! We both relaxed, he reading a book I downloaded for free on my Kindle and I thoroughly enjoying my current fictional read The Art of Insincerity by Angela Hunt (from Glass Road PR) Will tell you more about it later.
Thought about how quiet it is around here when it's just me and Handyman. Son out enjoying his day off. And I'm missing my daughter who left for Europe a few days ago, traveling through 8 countries with a friend for an entire month!! She certainly loves to travel! I'm sure she'll have some great stories and pictures to share.
Attended church tonight. Hardly anyone there... partly because of the Stanley Cup playoffs, I think. Hockey fever affects everything, even church attendance. People go crazy over sports, as we all know. (GO Canucks GO!!!!!)
Then I started watching a Netflix movie, but it didn't hold my interest, so I came upstairs and here I am blogging about nothing important. It's been that kind of day. Nothing important... but a nice, relaxing day -- mostly just me and Handyman puttering around.
