Nay, Horse

horse I think horses are beautiful. When they run, with tail and mane flowing, they are truly a work of art. Up where we live (semi-rural), you can’t drive too far without seeing at least one or two in the fields doing what they do.

Well, we have a new horse in the neighbourhood, just two doors down, just over a stone’s throw away.  And I have never heard a horse neigh as much as this one does. Oh, not too much during the day, just early in the morning, starting about 6 o’clock or so. It goes on and on and ON, one neigh after another—for a couple of hours!! Every day. It’s been a few weeks now.

If  this was a barking dog, someone would have called the Bylaw officers by now, I’m sure. But what do you do with a noisy horse?! I never thought a neighing horse would be so aggravating, but if you are trying to sleep, it IS not a pleasant sound.

We can’t figure out what is causing this annoying behavior. Is the animal happy in his new home? Missing old friends? Calling out?  Lonely? Bragging? Constipated? Enjoying listening to  himself? Missing his mama?

I’m no horse whisperer, but if I were, I’d be telling this creature a thing or two!

I’m hoping for a hoarse horse. Soon.
