Friday’s Fave Five

image

So, I’m going to post my five favourite things about this week. It might be difficult since this week hasn’t been one of my more stellar weeks.  Ever have times when you’re not really motivated to do much?  But enough of that, here are some of my favorite things this past week:

1. I finally got around to downloading a new album on iTunes. It was a double album (for the price of one!) called Beginnings  by Fernando Ortega. A good mix of melodic piano playing , hymns I grew up on, and love songs I haven’t heard of yet.  I’ve always loved Ortega’s relaxing, contemplative, worshipful music. Great to read to, to knit to, or just to putter around to when loud, beat driven  music just doesn’t fit my mood, or just when having a quiet time.

2. Picked up the 1962 movie The Miracle Worker and looking forward to watching it in the next day or so. I love good old classic movies. And I love true, inspiring stories.

3. I won a FREE coffee from Tim Horton’s Roll Up the Rim contest! That’s about 2 out of 10 so far. I really wanted to win a car or a computer—but coffee is good, too…

4. When good things happen to my children, well, that is always a highlight of the week for me. Daughter’s new job in food services at the hospital  is working out well. She is getting lots of hours and being trained in a variety of positions. Way to go, Jill!  Son #2 has spent his final day in class at the university. He has worked tirelessly, done so well,  and deserves a little break before hitting the Graphic Design businesses with his portfolio. Congrats, Mike!

5.  My sister and her family are coming for a visit this weekend! It’s been months since we had face to face coffee time. I am so looking forward to it. Come snow, sleet, hail, or whatever else the weather can bring, I am expecting her early Friday evening.

  2. Ah, always when one starts putting down the good things the bad just get smaller and smaller in comparison. It is a great strategy, just not an easy one. Hope the weekend and the next week find you overflowing with good things!
