So, are you a dreamer? Lately, I’ve been churning them out. Everything from nightmares to answers to health concerns come out in my dreams! Are you asking for specifics? Well, then… I won’t go into too much detail because we all know (those of us who dream, anyway) that when you try to explain your dream to someone, it never makes sense. I get very funny looks when I attempt to. No, I’m not crazy-- I just have crazy dreams. So, in a nutshell, I’ll give you some idea of what I suffer some nights.
Last week, I had what I would classify as a night terror. Basically, a ‘bad guy’ jumped the fence into my yard as I was outside at dusk, and crouched down ready to attack me. I started to scream for help. Of course, my mouth wouldn’t open. That’s when my husband nudged me and asked if I was having a bad dream. I was making funny noises, apparently. I was so thankful he woke me up when he did. Thanks, honey, for saving my life. ;)
Last night I had a dream that we were looking after approximately six dogs. All sizes and shapes. One was as tiny as a tennis ball and was darting here and there. Enough about that. Makes no sense at all. I have been thinking about getting a dog lately, and Jill did tell me recently that she read that the smallest dog on record was a full grown one which was 4 inches long and 2 inches high (or something like that). So that’s where my dream came from, I’m quite sure.
And finally, I’m questioning now whether this was an actual event or just a realistic dream. Last week I had a discussion with someone about a person in town who does stomach massages, which aids greatly in the weight loss process. She mentioned that someone had lost 100 lbs using this technique. Now, do you think I can remember who I was talking to or where we were? My mind is completely blank regarding the details. Usually this sort of information comes back to me from the deep dark recesses of my memory storage system. Husband says I most likely dreamed up the entire scenario. He could be right. I’ll get back to you on this one. I did do some research, though, so I may be on to something here. http://www.integrative-healthcare.org/mt/archives/2007/01/how_massage_can.html
When I mention to my kids that I’ve had some strange dreams lately, they all have the same reaction… a slight rolling of the eyes, as if to say ‘oh, no, here she goes again.. shall I look interested or busy?’. So, I don’t go into details much anymore. Unless they ask.
I have bizarre dreams every single night. I've given up on sharing them with my family because they usually look at me as though I've lost my mind. Oh, and I too make strange noises when I'm having a nightmare and then Gary hears me and wakes me up.
ReplyDeleteYou have passed on the weird dreams to me! Thanks a lot, Mom!
ReplyDeleteI've considered starting a "dream book" to record them but I always forget them when I wake up, and then remember them again later...but only snippets.
But yeah, I dream something pretty much every night and its always crazy...usually a mish-mash of info I got during the day, movies or other visuals I'd seen recently, and random things or people I was thinking about.
