Did a little book browsing at VV today. You never really know what you might find that wasn’t there the week before! I found a book that promises a lot of things including:
- Shows how the housewife can avoid fatigue—and keep looking young (if it only promised this, it would be worth it!).
- Tells you how to turn criticism to your advantage.
- Shows you how to avoid emotional upsets.
- Shows you how to use what William James (who?) called “the sovereign cure for worry”.
- How to cure melancholy in 14 days.
Sometimes it’s the books written many years ago that are still the best in their field. I think it might be so with this one. While flipping through it, I noticed a lot of references to Bible passages and personal success stories. Looking forward to reading Dale Carnegie’s 1944 classic
How to Stop Worrying and Start Living.

Not that I really need this sort of help (those of you who know me well are snickering!) but I am looking forward to digging in.
I noticed you haven't had any comments for a few blogs and I thought I better let you know I am still reading so that you don't WORRY or become MELANCHOLY, and can avoid EMOTIONAL UPSET. You won't even have to read your new old book. =) I think those oldies have a lot of great nuggets in them!
