30, 40, and 50

30 posts in 30 days. It really wasn't so bad. But I'm glad the pressure is off.

Last night I went out with my girlfriend of almost 40 years. Both of our sets of parents emmigrated from Holland in the 50's. We met in Grade 5 at a Christian School and have been friends ever since. We went to the same church wayyy back when. We got married within a year of each other. We both have 4 children, 3 of 1, 1 of the other-- my children's ages corresponding to hers. (We both lived in the same city at that time).  We see each other about two times a year. Our husbands get along great.

Everyone should have at least one friend like that. No matter how long it's been since we connected, when we do, it's like we've just had coffee the week before.

A visit to the prairies just wouldn't be the same without a visit with my girlfriend.
