Rain or Shine?

Into each life a little rain must fall, as they say. But when the rain downpours without hope of letting up, well, it can get a bit tiresome.
Sunshine, on the other hand, seems to affect one’s outlook in a positive way. It brings out the happy feelings. Life seems lighter and people  seem to have more energy.
sunglassesWe all have the ability to bring rain or shine into other people’s lives. A negative comment about an idea, event, or experience can be a downer.  An encouraging, hopeful word brings brightness to another’s day.  Words are powerful.
Been thinking lately about my reactions to what’s going on in me, around me, and generally in the world at large.  My default setting is sometimes to analyze, critique,  and determine how things could be improved or why it isn’t true or won’t work.  Not that analyzing is necessarily a bad thing, BUT it can often lead to negative thinking and dissatisfaction. And if shared with others, the negativity may have the power to change  their  sunny day to a rainy one.
I think it’s important to ask if we  more often  rain on the parade of others or bring sunshine to it? Do others pull out their umbrellas or their sunglasses when they see us coming?
Imagine being able to choose what the weather will be like.
