Another month has slipped away and we are headlong into number eleven! We all know that it will be Christmas before long!!
Well, a new month means a Personal Monthly Challenge review and the beginning of a new one.
Last month’s PMC was the 30 Day Prayer Challenge, and I had no regrets tackling that one. What I was reminded of was that every little prayer counts, whether it’s a short, desperate one or a premeditated one, or a written one, or a read one, or a middle-of-the-night one. And I’ve used all of them. I like the idea of focused prayer. Did I see any miracles during that time? Well, no, if you mean did my prayer get answered the way I wanted it to. I’m learning bit by bit to trust God despite the circumstances. Trusting Him in the waiting and the not knowing. God is still God, still totally loving and totally just, no matter what life looks like. I say that in faith, not necessarily in feeling.
Been reading a book by Sheila Walsh called Get Off Your Knees and Pray. It’s the sort of book that’s not afraid to ask the tough questions about prayer and give honest answers.
“Why does God sometimes say ‘no’ to our prayers? ..I don’t have the answer to that..what we do have is the knowledge that when we keep praying—when we move beyond ‘why?’ to ‘be with me, Lord’—we begin to learn more about our faith and our strength in our Father. Confronting God with ‘why?’ becomes being with God in our need. He is there when we need Him. Always. He might not answer our prayers as we would like, but He will be there to hold us through the trials.” p. 67
Now, on to the next challenge. I’ve been humming and hawing about this one. I have a few ideas, but none that I am super stoked about. Nevertheless, I’ve decided it will be spending at least 1/2 hour a day doing something CREATIVE. This means OFF the computer. It could be knitting, writing, cardmaking, scrapbooking, even baking something! If you think it’s creative, it counts. A half hour a day isn’t asking myself for too much, is it?
I was inspired to do this through another lovely blog I read. It’s Art Every Day Month, so… as soon as I get off this thing, I will pick up my knitting needles and add a few more rows to my project. Participants are encouraged to post their creative work daily.. I may or may not be doing that. Anyway, I think it’s a great idea, and if you think so, too, why not join me?
That's a great PMC. Can't wait to read all about your daily creativity.
