Just over a year ago, my youngest bro surprised all of us siblings by announcing that he was going to treat us to a week’s accommodation in Mexico in December of 2010! At the time he said it would seem like a long time to wait, but time would fly . Yes, it did and yes it did!
Guess where I’m heading in a little less than 2 weeks?
It has probably been 35 years since we have done something together just as siblings. None of us was married back then.
Little Bro did invite spouses to join in the fun, but accommodations couldn’t be provided for everyone. So, it was up to us individually to decide. My 2 sisters and I are going to fly solo for a week. So to speak. And our spouses are good sports. I know for some of you, that may feel strange, but I know the three of us are going to have a HOOT! Oldest brother is taking along his dear wife. Youngest brother has a wonderful wife who is looking after their seven children while he’s away. No worries, his 3 older sisters will look after him very well (just like the old days—I’m sure I was his chief babysitter, being 13 years older!). Unfortunately, two of my brothers won’t be able to make it. Fiddlesticks! 5 out of 7 isn’t too bad, though.
This getaway has been dubbed ‘The First Annual … Retreat” He’s putting ideas in our heads. Are you thinkin’ what I’m thinkin’?
