Good Timing

So, this weekend we agreed on a Christmas present for the two of us.. a chainsaw! One of us was very thrilled and happy as a kid in a candystore. The other of us was just happy that the other was happy.

But it doesn’t end there.

Sometimes the planets align so nicely, don’t they? That very same morning, a dear friend let me know that Canadian Tire was having an awesome sale on cast iron cookware. So, while hubby was out shopping for his new toy chainsaw, I called him to let him know of this great sale, and would he stop by and pick up the item? How could he say ‘no’ to that, having just spent a wad more than I was planning to. He happily did so. What a guy!

Here he is in his element:

And here’s my latest acquisition-ain’t she purdy?:

Oh, and I’m still on track with being creative at least 1/2 hour everyday. Actually, I was a little more creative than usual, because I extended the mitts and added ‘thumbs’ to these . I decided if I was going to wear them outside, short and thumbless just wasn’t going to work for me. I’ll have to make another pair strictly for working on the computer. These ones are very soft, made from an alpaca/mixed blend combo.

  1. Good job on the mitts! Your new cooking pot is beautiful and I think you will find it gets a lot more use than the chainsaw. Just saying...

  2. I agree with Christie on the chainsaw/cooking pot! Now while he is out chopping wood for you to burn and keep your home warm you can be cooking up a delicious meal to warm him...great combo!
    I love the mitts too.
