Been keeping up with the creativity challenge so far… although it’s mostly been about knitting, knitting, and more knitting. Short, easy little patterns, which is really what I’m enjoying right now. I can’t give too many details, because these may end up as Christmas presents.
Oh, and I did finish the fingerless mitts. They’re quite peachy. And I’m working on a couple more projects. I really enjoy using up orphan balls of yarn… little bits left over from various patterns. They languish in my yarn stash, desperately waiting to be rescued. To have some sense of purpose. Patience, patience, I say. I’ve decided my goal is to be a minimalist knitter… whittling down the stash into a manageable size (even though I know that my stash really isn’t that big). I just like using up stuff.
I will do some more writing today, if I can just get myself to stop thinking about writing and put the pen to paper. I did recently purchase a recommended copy of How to Write Your Own Life Story, and the funny thing is, as I was organizing my writing binder a few weeks ago, I felt that I had a deja vu. I rummaged through my file cabinet like a dog looking for a long lost bone, pulled out an old duo tang—and inside were the identical categories, an assignment from the SAME book I had apparently borrowed from the library once upon a time (at least five to ten years ago). I’m ashamed to say I didn’t get very far into the assignments back then. Well, I’m glad I own this book now. I have purposed to actually use it, too. I’m on Chapter 3.. I won’t tell you how long it’s taken me to get there!
So, how is the time change affecting you? I’ve been feeling quite tired by mid afternoon. It feels a lot later than it is. Every year I ask WHY? Why do we have to have a time change? It makes no sense to me. I do enjoy the brighter mornings, though, but I know that we are still on a downward run headlong into the short, dark, cold days of winter. So, the brightness will be short lived.
Oh, and I once again restored our espresso machine to its prominent place on the counter, over the weekend. It just seemed like a Fall thing to do. After all, now is the time for lots of comforting hot drinks.
Speaking of creativity, I made myself and my daughter a Bengal Spice Latte with it. Mmmmm. Wow.
November, November…
I am not digging the time change. I woke up at 5 this morning, raring to go. Ugh. In fact, all 4 of us were up way earlier than usual. I just keep telling myself that in just 6 short weeks the days will start getting longer again. :)
ReplyDeleteI admire your resolve to be a minimalist knitter! Good for you for finishing your fingerless mitt. Just in time for the colder weather!
