I’ve heard it said that ‘a mother is only as happy as her saddest child’. Do you think that’s true?
What I do know is that “mother love” is the strongest love ever! I have seen it in my own mom, and yes, I feel it in myself. I love my children so much, but that’s an understatement. What other word is there to use? What word is stronger than ‘love’?
It’s really too bad that in our English language, the word love can be used in so many different ways.
I have a friend who said they don't warn you that once you become a mom you will wear your heart on your shirt sleeve for the rest of your life. So true.
ReplyDeleteAnd all I have to say about your snake post is this. ICK!
I don't know if I completely agree with the statement. I think it depends on why the kid isn't happy. A lot of their unhappiness stems from selfishness and such.
ReplyDeleteOf course, so does a lot of mine.
I definitely agree with the idea of my heart walking around outside my body, though. Having kids makes me feel so vulnerable.
Your words are the truth. The word "love" does not do the real feeling justice. How do you explain a love so strong that you would put yourself in harm's way to spare someone else even a droplet of pain?
ReplyDeleteAnd the worry...that's a word that needs a new word too when it refers to your children!
