Just finished a great little read called Faithful by Kim Cash Tate, It’s the story of 3 girlfriends who are all dealing with issues in their personal lives related to the concept of being faithful.
Dana’s husband has an affair. Phyllis is tired of praying for her husband to be saved and wonders if there is someone better out there for her and the kids. Cyd, single and 40, wonders if God has heard her prayers. Then she meets a man who is not exactly what she asked for.
This story presents very realistic scenarios of the dilemmas we may and often do face in our lives. Standing at the crossroads, what will we decide to do, and have we considered the results of our decisions? Will we be faithful to our beliefs, our spouses and to God?
The dialogue is realistic and engaging with a good dose of humor. And some great encouragement to stay faithful, even during hard times. The only weakness I see is that some events move along a little too quickly to be entirely believable. For example, would a man be caught in an affair one day and then choose to confess in front of his megachurch only a few days later? That might be stretching it. But that is a minor flaw.
If you’re looking for a quick, fun, engaging read that reminds you of the freedom you will find in following God’s best for your life, you will enjoy this book.
