Finished my latest pair of socks. These are the ones my sister started, then admitted knitting socks really wasn’t her thing. I offered to finish them for her. Finally done. What really irks me about knitting socks is that, no matter how careful I am, no two socks are ever exactly the same size. Although I’ve used the same needles, maybe I knitted tighter the second time around, or maybe a few more rows sneaked in when I wasn’t looking, who knows.

So, once I wash them and lay them out to be dried, I attempt to stretch the smaller one and hope it sets that way! Hoping sister’s two feet aren’t exactly the same size.. then these will be made to order!
I’m glad I’m done. Now I get to start a new project (or finish a couple of others I’m working on).
very nice. I still love the socks you made me. I save them for days that I know are going to be stressful because when I wear them, I am reminded that someone cared about me enough to spend all that time making them. Thank you so much for that! (though on hard weeks, I wish I had seven pairs!!!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words, Sharla! Those were one of the first pairs I knitted and I'm sure there were a few mistakes, but if you're still wearing them, they must be good enough! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Aneta,
ReplyDeleteNice socks! I like the pattern on those.
I knit socks too :) usually I compare the sock that I am currently working on with the one already made, to make sure that I have aproximately the correct measurements. Does it seem to you that a different needle size was used between those two socks? anyway, happy knitting!
