Desensitized

Every day we hear news of horrific events that take place and then  feeling helpless, we shake our heads, wish we could do more, and then go about our day, almost forgetting what we had just heard.. I'm talking about myself here, as well.

Last night I heard about a devastating earthquake that hit the city of Port-au-Prince in Haiti several hours before. Buildings have collapsed , thousands have been killed, many are missing. I can only imagine the pain and suffering going on there. Imagine if that happened here?

The dilemna is knowing what to do. We can ALL do something, however trivial it seems. Of course, praying for the situation would be the first thing. Donating $ to a relief organization would be another. Getting in contact with the Red Cross would be another way of learning how to help.

Here's a link to World Vision's page where you can donate, if you would like.

With knowledge comes responsibility, right? We are all called to be faithful to what we know.

Today, I'm thankful for peace, safety, and the opportunity to help my fellow brothers and sisters across the world.

  1. Thanks for sending the donation link. At least I can help out in a small way.

  2. Compassion International is also taking donations. Here is their link although you will probably have to copy and paste.
