Every few weeks we get a promotion for TV cable that is hard to resist. The man of the house and I usually have a brief conversation about it, and then we decline. I rip up the promotion just to be sure our decision is final. Today I caved.
I hummed and hawed for a long time, but today I decided I want to be able to enjoy watching the Olympic coverage on TV without having to sit at my computer to do it. I want to watch it on the Big Screen.
I made a phone call to husband and he hardly hesitated. So, now tomorrow we will begin our cable experience for six months. I’m a little hesitant about doing so, mainly because there is so much ‘crap’ on TV, and TV can easily become the default activity, especially on cold winter nights. I’m quite excited about the National Geographic channel, though, and the fact that the boys can watch hockey playoffs in full and living color . And there are a few shows I do love to watch, like Lost and 24.
Was it a wise decision? I’m not sure. But we can cancel at anytime, so I’ll keep that in mind if TV viewing is ruining our lives.
I might be coming over to watch a few things with you!
ReplyDeleteperhaps the tv will have so corrupted you, that you won't realize its ruining your lives?
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping my distance.
