I’ve recently discovered something. I’m better off without Facebook. Not that I have anything PERSONAL against it, but I realized it wasn’t doing anything to enhance my life. I think it’s just my personality. I am just not a Facebooker at heart and I often felt like I was ‘creeping’ (as they say) on people, even though it could hardly be called that if people are knowingly putting personal info out there for the world to see. After all, this is a public social network we’re talking about.
Lately, I have stopped checking Facebook and I have discovered that I don’t miss it. I still officially have an account, mind you, but that’s because there are some friends and rellies far and near who do send me personal messages that way, and I’m not about to cut them off. Yes, I could just tell them to email me, but once in a while it’s fun to chat on Facebook. It rarely happens anymore, though, since I am rarely on there. Maybe one day I will deactivate and officially cease to exist.
Or maybe one day my personality will morph into a social networking fiend and I’ll be in everyone’s face(book). Don’t think that’s going to happen, though.
I’m still on Twitter (I think it’s a great way to scan great articles and sites from authors, musicians, and generally interesting people). But I rarely update it. Pathetic, really.
Oh, and blogging. It’s in my blood. But it, too, has been threatened with annihilation. I just don’t have the heart to do it, though. I just find it to be a good creative and fun outlet. Sometimes. And I like my blog buddies. :)
Facebook definitely isn't for everyone. I like it though because it's an easy way for me to stay in contact with friends and relatives that I don't see very often.
ReplyDeleteI don't get the appeal of Twitter. I joined it once for an hour and couldn't figure out what all the hype was about.
Blogging, well that's in my blood too. I've often thought of giving it up but I just can't do it. I would miss it way too much.
I like Facebook...though I probably spend too much time on it. But when I don't have time, it usually falls by the wayside, so its not too bad.
ReplyDeleteI don't get Twitter at all.
Blogging...well, we all know how I feel about blogging.
I'm karma commenting backwards because you didn't have anything new for me to comment on today!
