To those of you who have bothered to make the move to my new blog, WELCOME!! I don't promise anything I can't deliver, and I'll leave it at that.
Why the new blog, you ask? Well, for those of you who know me, I like change. And I've had my other blog for 4 years! And it began to feel old... I decided to turn that blog into a personal blook through Cutest Blog on the Block, so, in reality, I can delete that blog and lose nothing really. And maybe it's time to remove it.
And since I'm beginning a new phase in my life -- the NIFTY FIFTIES!!! -- I thought I'd celebrate it by creating a new blog. Now, if you read some entries in the future and you think I've gone a little 'off my rocker' at times, you can just attribute it to the aging process. I'm okay with that.
But don't worry, I'm not ready for senior's menus or senior's days at Walmart and such. Give me another 10 years at least! Except for senior's moments... I'm afraid I've probably experienced one or two of those already.
Honestly, I'm not even going to pretend to be old (unless it works in my favor). Because I'm not. How many times have I read that 'life begins at 50?'. It's too bad I don't remember where I read that, but it sounds like a good bit of wisdom. I hope it's true. But then again, if it is true, then what was my first half century of life? I know I was breathing- for most of it, anyway.
So, now I bid a fond farewell to my forties, thirties, twenties, teens, and childhood ... but reminiscing is for another time.
I will look forward to the wisdom of those who have gone before me. Onward HO!
Happy Birthday! I'm in complete shock after reading that you've turned 50. You make 50 look GOOD! (Honestly, I thought you were in your early 40's all this time. Although now that I actually think about it, that means you would have had to start having children at a very young age! lol)
ReplyDeleteLove the new blog. I'd really like to see your blook sometime. I'm trying to decide if it's something I'd like to do with my blog in the future.
Thanks, Sonya, for the kind words!
ReplyDeleteMy blooks (vol. 1 and 2) are in PDF form on my computer at the moment, but when I get them printed and bound at Office Depot, I'll show you.
Not only does Life begin at 50, but apparently blogs do too. I'm sure the PL will be even more entertaining than LL.
ReplyDeleteI, also, had no idea you were near 50 - although there is nothing wrong with 50! I think you'll probably be having to show i.d. if you want to take advantage of senior discounts until you're into your nineties though.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
Hi Aneta,
ReplyDeleteI have been following your blog for aprox 2 - 3 years. You don't know me, but I am about your age - (no I haven't hit the 50 year mark yet) but I live near Edmonton - grew up here, went to Calvin Christian East :), and anyway, knew you through friends, but don't really know you if you know what I mean :) I feel soo self concious to even write this, cause usually I just smile & nod, and enjoy. I am not the type of person to offer all kinds of opinion, but I have enjoyed your blog, and so I hope that I don't have to "sign" up to read it. Anyway, hope you have a great day,
Vivian
Hi Vivian! Welcome to my blog! I'm totally intrigued about who you are, since we went to the same Christian school (although probably not the same year). Maybe I DO know you! If you have a blog, I'd love to read yours! :) I'm flattered that you've taken the time to follow my blog!
ReplyDeleteThe older the violin, the sweeter the music.
ReplyDeleteLove your new home and looking forward to more wisdom that comes from gray hairs and wrinkles. (Not that any of us have any of them. Right? *cough cough*)
