Navigating 2012

I recently heard a list being discussed on how to navigate through Christmas. Now that Christmas 2011 is in the past, I thought these life tips would suit well for the New Year, as well.

1. Accept grace

2. Drop the ‘shoulds’. They only produce guilt. If you truly ‘want to’ (even if it’s hard or boring), then do it!

3. Give yourself permission to rest. (Why do we often feel guilty when we’re NOT doing?)

4. Let go of perfectionism.

5. Discover your true BELOVEDNESS. Remember the prodigal son and how his father treated him. Remember that God is ‘well pleased’ with us just because of who He is and who we are.

6. Learn the power of the sweet NO. Love that! A sweet NO. We don’t owe explanations of why we say no.

This discussion was on a book called Freedom From Performing by Becky Harling.
